The third oldest microbrewery in Colorado, Durango Brewing Company has been brewing since 1990 in the quaint town of Durango, nestled in the San Juan Mountains of southern Colorado. Their beers are handcrafted using the finest barley, hops, and yeast, along with water born high in the San Juan Mountains.
The brewery was acquired by Mark Harvey in 2002 and he is still the current owner today. Mark works closely with head brewer Scott Bickert in crafting specifically traditionally styled American brews. Durango specializes in making beers that appeal to a broad audience, rather than focusing on specialty beers that aren’t necessarily enjoyed by the masses. Following this philosophy, Durango’s beers have garnered a reputation for consistency and excellent flavor with a die-hard local following.
Brewer Scott Bickert has a varied background in beer and brings over ten
years of brewing experience to Durango Brewing Company. He continues to improve the brewery’s processes and methodology, increasing efficiency and helping to expand the brewery to build on its current production
capacities.
Durango’s beers have a very limited distribution through Colorado and New
Mexico, and select brews are served aboard the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. It’s nearly impossible to find these selections anywhere else! We hope you enjoy!
